Shortly after graduation, Kopf met her future husband Stephan Steininger online and moved to Vienna together. They soon divorced when Steininger began dating other women while he still married Kopf. However, within three years she resigned from the paper because she found herself unable to concentrate on its coverage of international events due to too much stress caused by her ex-husband’s cheating issues. After several failed attempts at finding employment as a full-time Journalist, Kopf finally landed her dream job: As an Editor at the Austrian daily Österreichische Zeitung (ÖZ). After some hard work and dedication over the next few years, including working nights and weekends so that she could continue writing during regular hours, ÖZ became one of the most influential media outlets inAustria throughout the 2008/2009 financial crisis – making it one of the few papers which reported extensively on economic problems outside of government circles.”
